The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs
Script
NARRATOR:
Once upon a time, a farmer and his wife had a goose.
But not just any goose…
This goose laid a golden egg every day.
NARRATOR:
Every morning, they found one shiny, golden egg in the nest.
FARMER (amazed):
“Look! Another golden egg!”
NARRATOR:
They sold the eggs and became rich.
They bought new clothes, new furniture, and lots of food.
NARRATOR:
But soon, the farmer became greedy.
FARMER (grumbling):
“One golden egg a day is too slow.
What if we take all the gold at once?”
WIFE (worried):
“But… what if there’s nothing inside?”
NARRATOR:
The next day, the farmer picked up the goose.
He held a knife in his hand.
NARRATOR:
The goose looked up with soft eyes.
She didn’t fight. She didn’t run.
NARRATOR:
The farmer quickly cut her open…
But inside, there were no golden eggs.
Just a goose, like any other.
NARRATOR:
The goose was gone.
And so were the golden eggs.
FARMER (sadly):
“What have I done…”
NARRATOR (ending):
The farmer and his wife lost everything.
All because they wanted more… too fast.
Be patient. Don’t let greed take away what you already have.
THE END.
