Teacher script: Hello, [Name]! I’m so happy to see you again!
Act surprised that the character is moving big. Introduce that for the class today, you will move together.

Teacher Prompt: Can you say hello with me? Hello!
Do a quick hello song or puppet wave

Teacher Script: Look at this face! It’s happy! Smile like this — Happy! Now this face — oh no! It’s sad!
Act them out, and let the child copy the faces.

Ask: “Happy or sad?” (Student points or names)
Teacher Script: “Is this happy? Or sad? Hmm… happy! Let’s say: I’m happy!”

Teacher Script: Let’s sing a song about our feelings.
Extra Verse (Sad):
If you’re sad and you know it, wipe your tears. 😢
If you’re sad and you know it, wipe your tears. 😢
If you’re sad and you know it,
Let your teacher help you show it,

*Use gestures and act out each emotion!


Teacher Script: Oh no! Teddy looks like this 😢 — is he happy or sad?
Let student guess and mimic!


Teacher Script: Look! Teddy looks like this 😀 — is he happy or sad?

Teacher Script: Who is happy? Who is sad? Can you show me sad? How about happy?

Teacher Prompt: “Can you make a happy face? Yay! Can you make a sad face? Oh no…”
Use camera or small mirror for fun.


Teacher Script: Let’s pretend your playing with a friend, yay! Happy!


Teacher Script: Now let’s look at this — oh no! Not sharing is sad!

Teacher script: How about this? Are you happy when you’re sick?


Teacher script: How about when you’re playing with a plane?


Teacher script: What do we say when we smile?
Student says: “I’m happy!”
Repeat with “I’m sad.” Give a star!

Closing: Thank the students and sing the optional goodbye song.
