NARRATOR:
One day, an old woman was washing clothes in the river.
Suddenly—splash!—a big peach floated by!
She took it home to share with Grandpa.
NARRATOR:
But when they cut the peach—POP!
A baby boy came out!
👦 BOY:
“I’m Momotaro! I’ve come to bring you joy!”
NARRATOR:
Momotaro grew strong and kind.
One day, he heard that ogres were hurting people.
👦 MOMOTARO:
“I will go stop them!”
NARRATOR:
Grandma gave him rice cakes.
Grandpa gave him a sword and belt.
He waved goodbye and walked toward Ogre Island.
NARRATOR:
On the way, a dog appeared.
🐶 DOG:
“Where are you going?”
👦 MOMOTARO:
“To fight ogres! Want a rice cake?”
NARRATOR:
The dog joined him.
Soon, a monkey and a pheasant joined too.
NARRATOR:
They sailed to Ogre Island.
The ogres were big—but the friends were brave!
NARRATOR:
The pheasant flew high.
The monkey jumped fast.
The dog barked loudly.
Momotaro led the way!
NARRATOR:
The ogres gave up.

“We’re sorry! We’ll never steal again!”
NARRATOR (ending):
Momotaro and his friends returned home
with treasures and smiles.
