🎵 Narrator:
A miller died and left his things—
To his three sons, with simple means.
The youngest one got just a cat… 🐾
🧑🌾 Young Man: “What can I do with that?”
🎶 Verse 2
🎵 Narrator:
But this cat was smart and sly!
With clever plans and a watchful eye.
🐾 Puss: “Give me boots and a bag,
And I’ll make your fortune—not a drag!”
🎶 Verse 3
🎵 Narrator:
He caught some rabbits, smooth and neat—
And gave them as a royal treat.
🐾 Puss: “A gift, Your Highness, just because—
From the Marquis of Carabas!”
🎶 Verse 4
🎵 Narrator:
The king was pleased, the princess too—
And wondered who this gift came through. 👸
Then Puss, with plans so quick and slick—
He made his master’s fortune stick!
🐾 Puss: “Quick! Take off your clothes and jump right in!”
🎶 Verse 5
🎵 Narrator:
The cat ran fast, the plan was set—
He shouted loud without regret!
🐾 Puss: “Help! My master has been robbed today!”
🎵 Narrator:
The king gave clothes and took him away.
🎶 Verse 6
🎵 Narrator:
The princess smiled, the young man beamed—
It all was going like a dream. 👸
Now Puss ran far to an ogre’s home—
A giant castle all alone. 👹
🎶 Verse 7
🎵 Narrator:
He tricked the ogre, smooth and light—
To turn into a mouse, then snap! a bite!
🐾 Puss: “The castle’s ours, come see inside—
My master’s home, so grand and wide!”
🎶 Verse 8
👑 King: “What a magnificent estate, Marquis!”
👸 Princess: “He’s charming and kind, I see.”
🎵 Narrator:
They wed with joy, the cat looked proud—
And spoke these words, clear and loud:
🐾 Puss (smiling):
“All it took was a pair of boots…
And a little brains. That’s the truth!”
