🌾🕊 The Farmer and the Stork
📜 The Farmer and the Stork
Aesop’s Fable – Easy English Version
NARRATOR:
Once, a hardworking farmer had a large field filled with seeds he had just planted.
Every day, he watched as flocks of birds flew down, pecking and eating the seeds.
No matter how hard he worked, the birds ruined his efforts.
NARRATOR:
The farmer became angry and came up with a plan.
He placed a large net in the field to catch the seed-stealing birds.
NARRATOR:
The next morning, when he returned, the trap had worked.
Many birds were caught in the net, flapping and squawking.
Among them was a tall, elegant stork.
🕊️ STORK:
“Please, kind farmer! Let me go!
I am not like these greedy birds.
I am a gentle creature and did not eat your seeds.
I just happened to land among them.”
NARRATOR:
The farmer looked at the stork and frowned.
🚜 FARMER:
“You may be a different kind of bird,
but you were caught with the ones who did wrong.
You chose to be with them, and now you must face the same punishment.”
NARRATOR:
The stork cried and begged for mercy.
Tears filled his eyes as he pleaded again and again.
But the farmer shook his head.
He would not change his mind.
NARRATOR (ending):
Even if you do no wrong,
being with those who do can bring trouble your way.
Choose your company wisely.
