Script
NARRATOR:
Once upon a time, a poor girl lived with her mother.
They were hungry and had no food.
NARRATOR:
One day, the girl met an old woman in the forest.
OLD WOMAN:
“You are kind. Take this magic pot.”
GIRL:
“Magic?”
OLD WOMAN:
“Yes. Say: ‘Cook, little pot, cook!’
And it will make sweet porridge.
To stop it, say: ‘Stop, little pot, stop!’”
NARRATOR:
The girl ran home and tried it.
GIRL:
“Cook, little pot, cook!”
NARRATOR:
BUBBLE! BUBBLE!
The pot filled with yummy porridge.
MOTHER:
“It’s amazing!”
GIRL:
“Stop, little pot, stop!”
NARRATOR:
The pot stopped.
They ate happily every day.
NARRATOR:
One day, the girl went to town.
Her mother was hungry.
She said:
MOTHER:
“Cook, little pot, cook!”
The pot started bubbling…
NARRATOR:
But—she forgot the words to stop it!
The porridge rose—
over the pot,
over the table,
out the door!
NARRATOR:
Porridge filled the streets!
People climbed rooftops.
They shouted, “Help!”
NARRATOR:
The girl came back and saw the mess.
She shouted:
GIRL:
“Stop, little pot, stop!”
NARRATOR:
And it did.
The village was full of porridge…
but everyone had a sweet breakfast.
NARRATOR (ending):
And from that day on,
they always remembered the magic words.
