The Bremen Town Musicians
Script
NARRATOR:
One day, an old donkey was sent away from the farm.
He walked down the road, sad but hopeful.
DONKEY:
“I will go to Bremen and be a musician!”
NARRATOR:
Soon, he met a dog.
DOG:
“I’m too old to guard the house. Can I join you?”
DONKEY:
“Let’s go to Bremen and sing!”
NARRATOR:
Then they met a cat.
CAT:
“No one wants me anymore. Can I come too?”
DONKEY:
“Of course! We’ll make music together!”
NARRATOR:
At last, they met a rooster crying loudly.
ROOSTER:
“They want to cook me! I must leave!”
NARRATOR:
So now there were four: donkey, dog, cat, and rooster.
NARRATOR:
It got dark, and they saw a little house in the woods.
Inside were robbers with food!
The animals made a plan.
NARRATOR:
The donkey stood tall.
The dog jumped on him.
The cat climbed next, and the rooster stood on top.
All together:
“YAAAAHHHH!”
They made a huge noise!
NARRATOR:
The robbers were so scared, they ran into the forest!
The animals laughed and ate the food.
NARRATOR (ending):
They never made it to Bremen…
But they found a home—and made music together forever.
THE END.
