He was happy and free.
🎵 GRASSHOPPER (singing):
“La la la! Summer is fun!”

But not far away, the ant was working hard.
She carried food, one piece at a time.
🐜 ANT:
“I must get ready. Winter is coming.”
🌞 NARRATOR:
The grasshopper laughed when he saw the ant.
🎻 GRASSHOPPER:
“Why work so hard? Come and play with me!”
🐜 ANT:
“No, thank you. I need food for the cold days.”
🍂 NARRATOR:
Time passed.
Summer turned to fall.
The leaves turned yellow.
The ant kept working.
The grasshopper kept playing.
❄️ NARRATOR:
Then… winter came.
The wind blew. The snow fell.
🌨️ The ant was warm in her home.
She had food to eat.
But the grasshopper was cold and hungry.
🏚️ NARRATOR:
He had no food. He had no warm house.
🎻 GRASSHOPPER (shivering):
“Oh no… I’m so cold… I’m so hungry…”
🚪 NARRATOR:
He knocked on the ant’s door.
🐜 ANT:
“Hello, Grasshopper. Why are you here?”
🎻 GRASSHOPPER:
“I didn’t save food. I didn’t get ready for winter.”
🤝 NARRATOR:
The ant gave him some food and said:
🐜 ANT:
“Next time, work first. Then play.”
🌈 NARRATOR (ending):
The grasshopper learned a lesson that day:
There is a time to play, and a time to work.
THE END.
